Ormsby said she had little choice. They buy their organic cotton from Turkey as raw product. It is woven to Ormsby’s specifications into cloth. But the United States has no textile mills left large enough to handle GroVia’s volume. They considered making the cloth overseas and importing components of the diaper back to America for assembly, but, Ormsby said, that had its own environmental costs.
