Mina Stampede: Malaysian Pilgrim Laid To Rest

MECCA: Malaysian pilgrim, Zulkifly Samad, 50 who was killed in the Mina stampede tragedy has been laid to rest at Syuhada Muassim Cemetery in Mina at dawn.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Asraf Wajdi Dusuki in his Facebook posting said Zulkifly’s was laid to rest at 2.50 am Saudi Arabia time.

“Praise be to god (Alhamdullilah) managed to expedite the burial ceremony which was held at 2.50am Saudi Arabia time, at the Syuhada Muassim Cementery.

“The deceased's wife Suriah Hanim told me that Zulkifly wanted to perform haj according to Prophet Muhammad’s example by waking from Muzdalifah to Mina, even though I already advised not to split from the Tabung Haji congregation,” he said.

Zulkifly Samad from Taman Ukay Bistari, Ampang, Selangor was performing his Haj with his wife and mother.
