Mattis Breaks Silence… Goes “Mad Dog” On Kim Jong Un With Brutal Threat

We all got the news about Donald Trump’s statement on North Korea’s recent nuclear saber-rattling. After That, James Mattis, the Secretary of Defense, spoke up on this issue. Even though there was no “fire and fury,” Mattis went “Mad Dog” on the North Korean dictator and issued a huge threat.

“The DPRK must choose to stop isolating itself and stand down its pursuit of nuclear weapons,” Mattis said in an official statement, reported Fox News. “The DPRK should cease any consideration of actions that would lead to the end of its regime and the destruction of its people.”

Defense Secretary’s response followed a Tuesday report which informed that NK has succeeded in making a smaller nuclear weapon able to fit on a ballistic missile. The report also wrote about the possibility for NK to attack the USA. Nevertheless, Mattis indicated that the US President was aware of the possibility of such a threat even before becoming a president.

“President Trump was informed of the growing threat last December and on taking office his first orders to me emphasized the readiness of our ballistic missile defense and nuclear deterrent forces,” Mattis’ statement revealed.

“While our State Department is making every effort to resolve this global threat through diplomatic means, it must be noted that the combined allied militaries now possess the most precise, rehearsed and robust defensive and offensive capabilities on Earth. The DPRK regime’s actions will continue to be grossly overmatched by ours and would lose any arms race or conflict it initiates.”

Mattis statement came a day after the president said that North Korea “will be met with the fire and fury like the world has never seen.

“(Kim Jong Un) has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said, they will be met with the fire and fury and, frankly, power the likes of which this world has never seen before,” The Daily Caller reported that Donald Trump stated.

In case it wasn’t clear before, Mattis and Trump’s statements should have made it very evident that the administration isn’t going to go down the path of appeasement in the same way that Barack Obama did. Whether it’s too late to undo the damage of Obama’s policies is another issue entirely. We’ll certainly find that out in the weeks and months to come.
