Love Island may have ended, but its energy won’t be far away this summer as a new Channel 5 show called Make or Break is about to hit screens.

The new reality show, which kicks off August 7 on Channel 5, features eight warring couples as they flee their home comforts to go on a make or break holiday to see whether their struggling relationship can work.

The show will run for two weeks from Monday to Friday at 10.00pm.

Meet the contestants in the photo below, (from left to right), top row, Abbi, Jess, Matty, Che, Nikita, Connor and Ellie; middle row Richard, Sophii, Stephen, Holly, Beth and David, bottom row Andy, Elle & Karl.

All eight couples’ relationships are on tenterhooks, so they have swapped Blighty for a Mexican paradise where they hope to leave their problems behind.

But all is not what it might seem – rather than enjoying the exotic paradise, couples will be testing their relationships to the max, undergoing trials and – in a move straight out of Love Island – swapping their partners with each other.

The eight couples will have no easy beach life as each couple will be put ‘on a break’ as soon as they land, lasting 48 hours.

However, in the interest of mending and repairing the broken relationships, the show will feature behavioral workshops, challenges and sex therapies to help each of the sixteen become more well-rounded and enriched individuals.

Ultimately, the aim is to help the couples decide whether it’s make or break by the time the show wraps two weeks later.
