Fake Encounter Probe: Contempt Plea In HC; Criminals Declared Dead By Neemuch Police In 2009

Petitioner in the case Govardhan Pandya, a social activist from Ujjain, has since been fighting a legal battle for a CBI probe to establish the identity of the two innocent men who were killed in a police encounter and a road accident respectively and bring the guilty police officials to book.

In 2014, a single bench of the MP high court at Jabalpur had allowed Pandya's PIL for a CBI probe into two deaths, asking the premier investigating agency of the country to submit a report in the case within six months. The CID wing of state police was probing the case then.
