The supermarket will start selling pre-paid phone plans along with groceries in a move tipped to put pressure on big telcos Telstra and Optus.
The German grocery chain has offered cut-price calls, text and data in Europe for several years.
ALDImobile will use part of Telstra's 3G network.

ALDI's plans include a $15 or $30 Pay as You Go recharge deal with 12c a minute text and call charges within Australia, 35c MMS charges and 5c per MB for data with a 365 day expiry.
The Unlimited Plan for heavier users has 30 days of unlimited calls and texts within Australia plus 5GB of data for $35.
The Mobile Internet plan is $15 for 2GB and 30 days' expiry.
"ALDImobile customers will have the flexibility to recharge online via an exclusive mobile app at www.aldimobile.com.au and also conveniently at all 300 ALDI Australia stores," the company said.
A consumer advocate said customers using low-cost mobile phone operators could potentially halve bills compared with contracts with big players.
