Colbert Begs Trump Not To Fire Sean Spicer: 'Please Don't Do Your Own Press Conferences' (Video)

For the past several months,

Stephen Colbert has made his grievances with President

Donald Trump and his staff the center of his late-night monologues, but Monday night's "Late Show" took a bit of a turn when the comedian begged Trump not to fire

Sean Spicer.

"Please, please, please don't take Sean Spicer from us! Where am I going to get my daily dose of veiled anger and condescension?" Colbert said after beginning with, "First of all, you're a bad president. Please resign."

The plea follows Trump's Saturday night interview with Judge Jeanine Pirro on Fox News, where he touched upon a number of subjects, including his firing of former FBI director James Comey. And even though the POTUS was quick to sing Spicer's praises, he hesitated when Pirro pressed him about Spicer's future as White House Press Secretary.

"Yeah, well, he's been there from the beginning," Trump said.

"OK, he's firing Sean Spicer," Colbert chimed in. "Luckily, that time Sean spent in the bushes will come in handy next week when he's working at Home Depot."
